🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌

I made a costly, mindless mistake yesterday that left me spiraling into shame. Soon after, I had to prepare for a prayer session with my church, still battling darkness within.

I was teaching myself and my church about Jesus revoking our condemnation. "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." (Rom 8:1 NIV)

I had to keep reading until I could give the Word of God some power over the assailment in my mind.

"...How could he possibly condemn us since he is continually praying for our triumph?.. Nothing in this universe has the power to diminish his love toward us... All are impotent to hinder omnipotent love." (Romans 8:34, 35 TPT)

My lowest lows. My greatest failures. My darkest days. None of those drops in the bucket of my dampened spirit could put out the flame of my Savior.

The words I read didn't make me "feel" better. Still, I stood in front of a mirror as tears still flowed down my face. I declared God's truth over aloud over myself.

"I am fully loved, fully forgiven. Nothing can make God love me any less." I kept going until the crushing weight of shame fell off and was replaced with plain old sadness over a poor choice - and even that was laced with freedom.

Feelings are liars but the Truth is the truth. The bad days, hard seasons and poor choices of this lifetime fade away, but God's Word stands forever. We have all been equipped to cut off shame, guilt and whatever binds us with the Sword of the Spirit.

Our Friday Call to Worship is a read aloud from Scripture. We can hang our hats and hearts on Truth when the world turns against us or when we let the world down.

Say it aloud today:

"So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God's love. I'm convinced that his love will triumph over death, life's troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love." Romans 8:38, TPT
