🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌

The holidays are here! There are functions, finales, and gatherings galore. We play the songs, make the meals, and wrap the gifts. But what for?

There are many good reasons for the hustle and bustle, and celebratory traditions hold a special place in my heart. This year, God is whispering to me through the jingle-jangle, "Don't miss the miracle."

I don't mean THE MIRACLE - the "baby Jesus in a manger" miracle. That is the true Christmas miracle and reason for the season. The miracles my Father is nudging me to see are the ones that happen sitting across the counter from my teenager while we chop green beans, sitting on the couch with a sleepy toddler to watch the Frosty the Snowman cartoon I watched as a kid, and planning out what kind of birthday cake we're going to make for Jesus.

It all can be busyness and chaos, or it can be an act of worship. Jesus came to be fully present in our humanity - face to face, side by side. He became present so we could have unbroken relationship with him, no matter what. He commissioned us to do the same - love Him and love others.

While the songs play and the meals are being made this year, don't miss the miracle of being present with the people you're with. Let Christmas carols become worship music and shared meals become communion. No matter the speed of life right now, let the cadence of your heart be gratitude, presence and worshiping God through it all.

Listen Toby Mac's fun rendition of Little Drummer Boy, and tap out the beat on your steering wheel, kitchen counter, office desk, or have a full-on dance party wherever you are. Let an old familiar song inspire worship and rejoicing!
