🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
I'm an (excessive) planner. Every moment, even every meal is pre-determined. They rarely happen exactly as I planned, but I plan for that too. I have to admit... this week has had even more unexpected twists than I planned for!
My toddler decided naps were for the birds. I waded through my own weaknesses in leadership. And President Ramaphosa announced South Africa was going on tighter COVID restrictions, effective immediately. My husband and I tried to collaborate, pray and plan for how to do church without corporate meetings while our over-tired toddler and under-stimulated teen were left to their own devices during the mid-week public holiday.
Even still, excitement stirs in me. There is something about uncharted waters that makes me tremble under the Lord's declaration, "For I know the plans I have for you...” (Jer 29:11)
He IS. He knows.
Despite my love of color-coded calendars and meal planning apps, I find the greatest steadiness when the world rocks, and I'm peering through the storm to see a Savior willing to walk on the water to me. Life often gets knocked out of whack, but Jesus always comes. He came through locked doors when his disciples trembled in fear and disappointment after his death. (John 20:19-20). He came and cooked breakfast when his betrayer had a bad night of fishing. (John 21:12)
Life rarely happens like we think it will, but Jesus always comes. He loves with an everlasting, ever-steadying love. He is the safest place to be. Listen to "God Really Loves Us' by Crowder and Dante Bowe. Let this sweet song surround you today, and worship the One who has plans to prosper you.
