🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌

Last weekend, I used an entire bottle of baby laundry detergent in 24 hours and paid teenagers with Big Macs to help me move furniture as I prepared a nursery. The soft blankets, tiny socks, and all the sweet, itty-bitty things I lovingly put in place are for a fleeting moment. Our little one will never know the hours I spend preparing, praying, and reaching for him as he wiggles within me. Still, I bask in it.

I remember consoling our infant son Benjamin one sleepless night, pacing the hallway to soothe him. I paused at a mirror to take in our dimmed, disheveled reflections and thought, "One day, I'm going to miss this."

It's the blurred, midnight moments, unseen intentionality, and love that we pour into moments soon to be forgotten that are our truest acts of worship. We don't often take account for the time we spend walking down passageways, going from one place to another, but we spend much of our lives there in the hallways.

Every step you take is taking you somewhere. The thoughts you think, the things you do - noticed, appreciated or not - are fully seen by God. Worship in your comings and goings today, remembering that your Heavenly Father sees you and loves you fully. He has something for you in your in-betweens. Listen to River Valley Worship's "Hallways".

"For now, we can only see a dim and blurry picture of things, as when we stare into polished metal. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In that day, I will fully know just as I have been wholly known by God." 1 Corinthians 13:12 (Voice Translation)
