πŸ™ŒIt's the Friday Call to Worship!πŸ™Œ

The anticipation of Christmas has been replaced by new year resolutions or choosing a word for the year. I am itching to sit down with a fresh journal to pray, think and hear God for 2024. My good intentions are superseded by my present conviction, however.

During this long school holiday, packed with celebration and summer heat, the best place for me to be is present with my children. The oldest turns 16 today and doesn't have many school holidays left. Our 4-year old's special needs require extreme availability, energy and pro-activity when therapies aren't available.

God has prompted me to remain undistracted and even rested, to sleep 7 hours nightly. (I haven't come close to that since middle school!) It seems silly to wrestle with playing and resting, but I feel the weight of hundreds of unread emails and messages, not fundraising for school fees, and untended relationships. I post videos on social media for family, and that's the extent of my connections.

I cry out, "How do I get things done, here, Lord!?! Shouldn't I be doing more than making PBJ's!?! Give me a word from You!" God tended my tightly-wound planner's heart as I worshiped to this week's song. "Daughter, the only word you need is the Word."

Jesus.

Jesus is the Word. (Jn 1:1-5) Jesus is the Word for 2024, until the end of time and for eternity. He is the banner over my life, my source and my supply.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, completely available to you and me in the pages of our Bibles, infiltrating our minds, spirit and every cell of our body with His Holy Spirit. (Jn 14:6) We will find all that we need in Him today, in 2024 and forevermore.

The WORD is Jesus. The Way is worship.
