The only guarantee

Yesterday I witnessed a funeral for an 11 year old girl. Every inch of wall space at our church was plastered with poster-sized photos of her. BEAUTIFUL, vibrant, fully alive memories captured, not knowing how soon they would become irreplaceable relics.

The beam of light amidst a grave tragedy was the family’s assuredness that their little girl is in heaven.

They kept Christ in the center of their home and family. They chose His way over the worlds ways in many areas of life. And I’m more than sure today that they would say every sacrifice was worth it.

I snapped even more pictures than usual yesterday - and made a point to treasure the moments while we live them. Nothing is a guarantee in this world, but we are guaranteed to have no regrets when we treasure our people and keep Christ in the center of it all.
