How to Make A Change: Finding My Why
Have you ever tried to make a change with no idea how to start? But you knew you needed to change? Whether it is health, marriage, family, or a bad habit, big changes are daunting. The minute I look at the whole enchilada of transformation awaiting, I feel overwhelmed and would rather curl up into a ball than start that ever-so-tricky and usually unrewarding step one.
But the fact is: When something stops working, you change it. We’ve got a few rhythms and routines not working around here. One is my writing/working/resting rhythm. I’m not keeping the first things first, so I need to change something.
It always starts with one small step.
When I wanted to change my health, I started exercising in my room for just the amount of time it took the kettle to boil for coffee. That was a 4-minute catalyst that altered the trajectory of my life.
Currently, I feel compelled to bring right order into my life: God, marriage, family, home, and then all the other stuff. Deadlines and message dings can steal time before I realize it’s gone, before I take a moment to open God’s Word.
I love to write. I want to keep my eye on the prize when I give my time to it.
I want to write to build - to build you up, to build up families, and to build up the Kingdom of God.
I want to write to invite - to invite you into our story, into a dynamic community and to being the person God created you to be.
I may not continue to write 5x/week here plus another few times a week for Help Club for Moms, but I will write with purpose. I desire to foster a dynamic, life-giving community. My frequency of blog posts will probably decrease a bit in the coming weeks, but I want to add a a bonus weekly email for subscribers choose to become part of our story.
Thank you for being here and for your patience while I put some order into my rhythm. Please stay tuned for more details!
