🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
Our Creator designed our lifetimes on earth to be marked by seasons, sunrises, and trips around the sun. We all share this reality, whether you feel inspired by turning to a fresh calendar page, bound by seemingly timeless circumstances, or wounded and limping out of 2021. God made time to matter to us, every day and year purposed and imprinted with His relentless love for you. (Psalm 139:16, Psalm 90:12)
If you're anything like me, you label and categorize years. The year I moved to South Africa, the year we married, the years my children were born, and years marked by losses, a pandemic, major life shifts, etc. It's natural to mark and measure life by what happens.
As we begin a new year together, all extraordinarily equipped for "unprecedented circumstances" and unknowns, let's look up at the One outside of time and space. He's the One who meets us in all those things that happen and uses them for our good. (Romans 8:28) Let's close one year and open another declaring who God is and what we believe about Him, completely disarming the ways of the world as we worship.
The earth will keep spinning in 2022. Seasons and circumstances will march on. But what if your 2022 wasn't defined by events, goals, what you survived, or ground you gained... but by who you became?
Come what may, 2022 is the year to become more of who you really are: a dearly loved child of God. A worshiper who stands firm in eternity as time ticks on. Start this day singing Bethel's "I Believe", and let who you really are steer you into a new year. I pray your heart and faith will be abundantly blessed in 2022, beloved.
