A Very Different Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas celebration! It was the first time Chris or I have EVER been to church on Christmas Day - and we’re the pastors now! In America, we grew up attending Christmas Eve services and staying home on Christmas morning for a special family celebration - opening presents at the crack of dawn in your pjs, breakfast afterward, and then playing the day away at home.
We had to re-imagine Christmas for our family this year as we had the honor of hosting our first Christmas morning service as lead pastors at Southpoint Church! Chris and Lifa were at church setting up by 6am, and Benjamin and I weren’t far behind. The service was amazing. We had a full building, joyous celebration, and Benjamin was apparently dancing on stage in the toddler environment. He came bursting out with a gift in one hand and a birthday cake he had decorated for Jesus in the other hand. His joy was EXPLOSIVE.
I took the boys home to lay out brunch while Chris closed down the church building. We had a sweet birthday party for Jesus - including a rainbow cake, birthday candle, and rocks we had all painted as a gift for Him. Then, FINALLY, it was present time! We opened gifts, unpacked stockings, and played the day away! It was so full, so fun, and truly magical. We hope your Christmas was full of wonder and joy!
