Visa Update!

There’s an update! There hasn’t been an update in a very, very long time! If you’re new here: YAY! I’m glad you’re here. You can catch up on the visa saga here.

Benjamin and I headed downtown bright and early on Monday morning, armed and ready with snacks, toys and passports in hand. We arrived in our immigration lawyer’s office on the 27th floor to sign some documents and get briefed. Then we walked so fast to the office where we would finally submit our visa applications, fingerprints and police clearance applications. We followed a very kind representative from our lawyers office who did all the work for us. We just had to be there to sign, fingerprint and take photos.

Although we were there when they opened, we waited for an hour as there is a massive taxi strike happening that prevented most employees from getting to work. We had on 100 layers of clothing, a huge backpack full of snacks and toys, and a toddler who just had to be carried. It was its own sport. Benjamin was AWESOME. We did it, and rewarded ourselves with a stop at the motorcycle shop on the way back to the car.

Now we wait and pray. The lawyer said 8-10 weeks “but expect delays”. Thanks for praying with us and partnering in the journey!

Almost an hour in, and things started to get weird. Rubbing his belly button on every available surface. At least we’re not in the middle of a pandemic. 🤦‍♀️
