🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
Has the weight of the world ever kept you up at night? I'm pregnant while raising a toddler and a teenager - the perfect combination to need sleep and to lose it! I've tearfully prayed through many nights this week for my children and the world they are inheriting. The darkness seems to shout louder and louder with confusion and temptation coming from every direction. But God is not surprised at the world He is entrusting our children to. He is not lacking in wisdom, compassion, or omnipotent love.
I've replaced the soundtrack in my mind with the song, "Hope of the Ages" by Hillsong, Morgan and Carnes this week. I turned the lyrics into prayers and boldly proclaimed them over my heart, my home and the generations to come.
Yes, the news, social media and even people we cross paths with say the world is getting darker. But Jesus is the light in the darkness. The darker it gets, the brighter He'll burn. Nothing can stop what He has done and will do. He is the hope of the ages, our families, friends, children and the world that will keep turning when we take our last breaths.
It doesn't serve our hearts well to fuel the flame of fear and darkness that our enemy has kindled. Let's talk less about the world and more about Jesus. His Word will never stop being true. It won't bend or break. He is still alive, and He won't stop being the Rescuer of our hearts. Don't forget that He is still coming!
Join me in worshiping the King of Kings today. Sing "Hope of the Ages" at the top of your lungs, and let its truth resonate in your soul.
