πŸ™ŒIt's the Friday Call to Worship!πŸ™Œ

Old Testament Bible stories are filled with content little boys dream of - giants, bad guys and lots of weapons. My 4-year old insists on "solider stories" and knows, "God's team is the good team".

Chronicles 20 tells the story of King Jehoshaphat's response when huge enemy armies marched against him. The king was terrified, sought the Lord for guidance, and ordered his entire kingdom to fast. The king prayed a humble prayer that resounded with truth. His kingdom belonged to God, and God had worked out bigger problems than this before.

Immediately, God spoke. "This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's." (2 Chron 20:15)

When it was time to face the enemies, the king appointed singers... SINGERS... to walk AHEAD of the army and worship. The Lord caused the three enemy armies to start fighting each other the moment the worshipers began to sing! God's people didn't lift a hand in battle, only voices in worship. Not a single enemy escaped, and it took them three days to collect plunder in the "Valley of Blessing".

People of God, there will be armies marching against you to steal your ground and terrify you until the final day. My current enemy armies are broken systems, corruption and injustice (amongst others). Yours may be relationships, finances, health, addiction, a prodigal child, doubt, or anything else.

Let our enemies find us leading with worship today. Listen to Maverick City's "God Problems", and wave your hands in the air like a banner of victory. Let worship resound as your battle cry. And don't stop singing until you get all that plunder from the Valley of Blessing.
