🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
My good intentions proved to be feeble this week. My strong will could not hold the line. (And I'm good at making things happen!)
I've been trying to change the way I think about things and rearrange my own priorities. My stubborn plans are the defense while the truth I want to live by is offense. It can be hard to name a victor in an internal battle.
Finally, I had to just stop marching. Every ounce of discipline, will and zeal I could muster wasn't producing the results I was looking for. Sometimes, you have to stop forcing things forward to pause and look upward. Less working on it. More worshiping Him.
There IS a season to charge - onward, upward, co-laboring with God. These are powerful, fruitful, incredible times!
And there are seasons to slip out of those marching boots and bow down in worship before the Creator.
Our worshipful pause helps us remember we're not merely the Kingdom workforce, slaves grinding behind the scenes. We are the heirs of the King. Firstborns. We have the ring, the robe and the full authority of the Living God living inside of us.
Striving and straining doesn't give us merit. The blood of Jesus completed our righteousness and saved our seat next to Him. When we are confident of our place in our Father's house, abiding in His perfect love, the results we seek all come down to these simple words... "On earth as it is in heaven."
You see, after we stop and look up, we are compelled to bring what we see down here.
Let's look up. Let's call it like we see it when we use our spirit-eyes... "On earth as it is in heaven."
And let's edify His Spirit with a little soul today! Listen to Victory Boyd's "Just Like in Heaven".
