🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
My primary job description looks more like "rodeo wrangler" than "mom" with three boys. People often tell me I have my hands full. A common, heartfelt question pointed at me is, "Are you getting any 'me time'?" I always smile back and say, "Of course not!"
The "me-time" questions come from compassionate people ensuring I'm not burning out. We've all known that frazzled-nerve, hope-lost feeling of having nothing left. In the greatest of paradoxes, however, I have FOUND myself in the long absence of "me time". Instead of losing "me", I have encountered Christ in me. I've had the tiniest taste of loving sacrificially, without expectation, and it is supernaturally sustaining.
My sacrifices aren't glamorous. I'm not taking incredible leaps of love. I'm putting the Legos away again, praying away bad dreams, and preparing meal after meal that I will eventually scrub off the floor. But still, I find myself - Christ in me - right there. Abraham Kuyper said, "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, 'Mine!"
The daily grind doesn't have to feel holy. It's not about what you're doing, but about Whose you are. You will find true life when you live the one you've been given with Jesus. On this Friday morning, Your Maker says to you, "You are mine. I'm with you here, right where you are."
Hands don't feel so full when they're turned up and open. Let's posture ourselves as His today - loved, found, redeemed. Listen to Mack Brock's, "I am Loved".
