🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌

God put a picture in my mind before I had children. I was sitting on the floor with piles of laundry, toys everywhere, and everything out of order. I could almost feel the chaos in the scene. In it, God whispered, "Daughter, you never have to live in chaos."

At the time, it felt like a profound promise. Now, while we share a stomach bug and navigate special needs, I say, "Are you sure, God? Do you remember what you said?"

We look around and see the world God called "good" swelling with injustice, brokenness and pain. The first world advocates regular self care as the remedy to self-made chaos, but there's never enough. Again I say, "Are you sure, God? Do you remember what you said?"

This week, I was the one who was reminded what He said while explaining Noah's Ark to my four-year old. God didn't say there wouldn't be chaos. He said He wouldn't destroy the earth with water again. Chaos came back.

I think God was speaking to a condition of my heart, the mindset I choose, and the authority I have in Him when He said I never have to live in chaos. Pandemonium and pain can abound around us, for some even in our own bodies. But, because of Jesus, we can stand steady with peace-filled spirits. The Spirit who lives in us is greater than the spirit who lives in the world! (1 John 4:4)

And rest assured, there will be a day when chaos is conquered forevermore. Jesus came before to save us from destruction, and He will come back to make everything new. He will make His home amongst us and wipe away death, sorrow, crying and pain. (Rev 21)

Let's worship the Alpha and Omega- the Beginning and the End! (Rev 21:6)
