πŸ™ŒIt's the Friday Call to Worship!πŸ™Œ

According to the "Teacher" in Ecclesiastes, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." ( 3:1) He begins with, "a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.." (Eccl 3:2) And carries on until the reader and the Teacher himself are whirling with the question, "What's the point?"

We work. We hope. We try. We toil. We laugh. We weep.

We win, and we lose. We soar, and we fall.

What will really matter at the end of our lives? What is worth doing today?

My summary of the Teacher's wisdom is:

Live in your season. Not yesterday's or tomorrow's.

Life doesn't sit right sometimes because you were made for eternal life. But live it while you're here.

Wiggle your toes in the grass where you're standing. Your Father won't let you stand there without Him.

I'd call it, "a time to get gritty" in my life. We're in an arduous season of restoration with a special needs child. I was losing my footing but unwilling to succumb to "a season of demise". So, instead, I'm learning how to live where I am. I'm scaling back on what doesn't matter and honing in on what does.

I sing to my season when hope feels unreachable. I spread a neat tablecloth in the middle of a messy life, and share a meal with friends. I see the season for what it is - a season. One day, I'll wiggle my toes in eternity's grass and lock eyes with my doting Father. He will re-tell me the story of this season with His purposed love. He will do the same for you.

Get gritty with Rita today, and sing to your season.
