πIt's the Friday Call to Worship!π
My younger children's understanding of the world, time, relationships and life in general is fantastical, nonsensical and at the mercy of their moods. My five-year old measures time, height, days and all units of power in larger than life numbers like fifty-hundred-trillion-and-threeteen. He processes big ideas from the backseat, saying, "MOM, the days just keep GOING AND GOING". My favorite of his latest song lyrics are, "God has so much power, He doesn't have to shower. He never even gets diiiirrrrttyyyy."
My two-year old, on the other hand, has just one measuring unit for all things: "tomorrow". His world's axis rotates around his daddy. He sees a cool toy or beauty in nature and says, "Daddy made that." He sees a crack in the sidewalk and says, "Daddy fix that." I put on his socks and shoes, and he informs me, "Daddy will find my toes."
Trustworthy love is more real to them than time, space, demands or anything else. They don't worry about their needs being met because they both know, in their own ways, their daddy loves them twenty-thirty-one-million. I don't have to prove or explain anything when I share Scripture and worship songs with them. God's unfathomable love already fits their mold. It's more reasonable than vowel sounds or understanding which meal is breakfast and which one is dinner. There's no concept to learn in Christ. There's a Person to know and an immeasurable love to live in.
Live in unexplainable love today. And remember, "Daddy made that. Daddy can fix it. He can find the parts of you that are lost right now."
