A legislative bill aggressively moving forward mandates teachers to help students 12 years and older get abortions without telling their parents. Failure to assist a child's secret abortion results in jail time for the educator.

This week, a homeless community went to war against itself, setting each other's humble possessions ablaze and injuring one another when city officials came to remove them from their squatted camp. Another nearby community used guns, drugs and vandalism to steal, kill and destroy. And protest after protest, cars are rerouted and people take cover while fiery advocates shout for their voice to be heard. Everyone seems to be a preacher and judge in their own right, compelled to make sure the people around them know THEIR way and THEIR justice system.

The battle of "he said, she said" started in the Garden of Eden and has permeated every part of humanity. Even the pronouns are under fire today. In Genesis 3, the serpent asked, "Did God really say..." A hissed question kicked open creation's door for centuries of chaos and confusion.

But God put on flesh and to joined His confused and accused creation. He didn't have respond to what "he said" or "she said". He was the embodied I AM. Instead, He spoke over wounded warriors on every side of the battlefield to announce, "It is finished."

Worshiping warriors, we aren't going to get far if we ruminate only on the fires in front of us.

Let's sing about what the Lord says instead of joining in the chorus of the rabble. Watch and see how the shadows of what"he said" and "she said" disappear in light of what the Lord says.

Listen to The Belonging & Co's, "Says the Lord".
