🙌It's the Friday Call to Worship!🙌

Yesterday, my youngest sons and I had to run for cover from the rain. We sat together in the back of my beloved van. When the rain passed and they jumped out, the van’s bumper went down with them. I don’t know what caused the initial incident. It wasn’t those tiny little feet. But there was definitely a problem.

The sight of that sagging bumper instigated shame and self-loathing I am still struggling to get my head above. The side of the van bears a mark from when I hit a pole in a lawyer’s parking garage after a more-than-rattling experience regarding our family’s well-being.

To me, our van symbolizes abundance. We have a family big enough to need a van. We adventure and explore with it. It was given to us by faith-filled people we love. And now, it looks like wrecked abundance.

This is the year I told God I was fighting for abundant life. Wouldn’t Satan like to wreck my abundance? With just a little plastic and metal?

Once the kids were in bed, I sobbed to my husband. He flipped the script on me and said, “Look what you’ve done.” He began to recount the last hour of our night. A naked, carefree 2-year old running, diving repeatedly into his beanbag. A joy-filled 5-year old recounting dodge ball, and a settled-in 16-year old hugging his bothers goodnight. “Look what you’ve done,” he said. “You take care of what's most important perfectly."

When I see my van, the enemy screams, "You've messed it all up." "You've failed." "You don't deserve this." We've all had places, possessions, people or memories the enemy uses to sabotage us with a hissed, "Look what you've done."

Let's flip the script. Let's worship and say, "Look at what YOU have done, God." YOU made abundant life un-wreckable, joy un-stealable, and hope undeniable through Jesus.

Sing Tasha Layton's "Look What You've Done."
