The Last First Game

Chris traveled through South Africa earlier this month, and we’ve had the privilege of hosting many guests lately. Our usual, unwavering routine has been all over the place lately. But there’s nothing that can make the Ladds feel more like family than the kickoff of rugby season!

THIS IS OUR LAST RUGBY SEASON!!!

We’ve been to the same season-opening festival five times. Both of Lifa’s little brothers attended rugby games in the womb and again from the time they were two-weeks old. It’s in them. There is nothing we love more than cheering for the best big brother ever.

We said goodbye to our USA-bound guests on Saturday, just 30 minutes before game time. We rushed to the fields and didn’t miss a beat. I loved hearing Benjamin chatter the whole time about how the rugby team is SO GOOD because of Lifa, and Lifa’s the best rugby player he knows.

We got to watch two games on Saturday, and are looking forward to cherishing every moment of Lifa’s last rugby season in high school. Here’s a ridiculous glimpse of what a rugby game looks like from my view. Please notice there are no clips of Lifa or the actual game! He was there! We were there! We gave it our Ladd family best!
