Boom. Clap. Boom: Thoughts on Leadership
Boom. Clap. Boom. Clap.
The sound on the kitchen counter during breakfast this morning. Lifa was trying to teach Benjamin how to slap his palms down on the countertop and then clap to make a beat. It was adorable. Benjamin will do anything Lifa does. (Which is not always adorable.)
I’ve been thinking a lot about leadership. I don’t have time today to put my thought together coherently, but I do know that whatever we’re looking at Is what is leading us. Benjamin is always looking at his big bro.
I’ve been looking at my circumstances and the world around me so very much since COVID-19 struck the world. I’ve been led by fears, questions, anxieties, school calendars, and even caught in a spiral of praying the same situational prayers every night. Today is the first day of our worship challenge, and I’M SO EXITED! (Look below for a video Benjamin and I made this morning for Help Club South Africa... you could take out “Mama” and replace it with your name because this thing is for everyone.)
As we begin this worship challenge, I’m going to be looking up more, and I won’t be doing it alone. There’s a bunch of us! I’m ready to stop being led by what’s around me. When we worship God, we fix our eyes on Him. He leads us. He loves us. We become more like Him. He’s the One I want to lead my life.
