Learning my own lesson

Today I talked to moms around the world about hearing God’s voice. We used Scripture and practical ideas to answer these big questions:

There are so many voices, so many versions of the “truth” out there. But the REAL Truth, the truth of Jesus, will set you free. I have so many thoughts in a day... in a minute. Right before I sat down to write this, I took a shower to wake up my tired eyes and felt a thousand untested thoughts wash over me instead.

“I’m not doing well at...”

“I’m not a good....”

“I’m not....”

I JUST TALKED ABOUT THIS TODAY.

I told moms, and I’m telling you too: God’s voice does not bring condemnation or shame. It brings hope. LIFE. Freedom. God does not tell you what you are not. He tells you who you are and whose you are. As soon as I remembered that, I was able to reject those thoughts. That’s real life, and real truth. The radiance of God did not fill my bathroom, and we were running out of hot water from all the electricity outages today. It wasn’t a fancy moment, but it was a holy one nonetheless. Little moments like these are the ones that reshape our minds and set our hearts on heaven.
