🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
It's my South African birthday! 🥳 I landed in South Africa for the first time on 14 January 2010... 12 years ago!
After five years of single-parenting, God gave me an incredible husband. Since we've moved from America, we've lost all of our grandparents without goodbyes. We've missed a generation of weddings, babies, and milestones - as well as pizza nights and Saturdays with our parents, siblings and cousins. We fused together a family in strange and lonely circumstances, and have since been impacted by mass injustice, corruption, brokenness and oppression.
Jesus told us we'd face hardship. (John 16:33) You have your own list of trials and tribulations. Our physical circumstances, however, have been the scaffolding for the spiritual truths that define our lives and set the course for our future. Despite what we've lived through, here's what we've really seen:
⭐️ We've been sustained on God's miraculous provision without lacking. We've been able to give away a car, house the homeless, and live without debt.
⭐️ We've seen hope build homes, miraculous physical healings, churches revive, communities access clean water, people turn from witchcraft to worship the one true God, and food multiply again and again until every tummy was full.
⭐️ We have seen mountains move to set my husband's feet exactly where God said they would be when He spoke to him over 20 years ago.
⭐️ And we've been participants in a great love story full of plot twists - one about how relentless a Father makes a way for just one little boy who needed a family. He changed many lives around to make a way for one. Just like He says He will for you, me and the ones you love.
Listen to Brandon Lake's "Too Good To Not Believe" today and remind yourself what you have seen with your spirit. Celebrate what God has entrusted you with, and ask Him to show you the story He is writing around you.
