🙌 It's the Friday Call to Worship! 🙌
The holidays have come and gone. Predictability and knowing what day it is have gone out the window in the last weeks of school holidays. We're relishing late summer evenings and relaxed routines, while looking forward to the structure and new school stationery that makes it feel like the new year has really begun.
Some days I feel unsettled, over-tired and restless. My thoughts start with, "I can't wait until..." or "If this weren't my circumstance, then..." At other times, I make smoothies for dinner, throw my head back in laughter, and wish I could live in these days forever. It's in those times that my family thrives, my home feels alive, and the year ahead seems like a gift from above.
The day of the week, circumstances or opportunities life affords aren't the qualifiers for abundant life. Jesus was and is and always will be. We are the partakers and participators. All we have to do is set our minds and mouths on what has already been done and what is always true. My husband preached last week, "Your life is moving in the direction of your strongest thoughts. Are you excited about the direction your thoughts are taking you?"
This week's call to worship is bit of a pep rally. The style of the song may not be your jam, but it's a powerful example of how to worship in spirit and truth with your mouth. Today, tomorrow, or what happens next month may naturally turn you toward gratitude and hope. But God's Word is living and active. It pulses with power, and has more authority than your circumstances. Listen to Steven Furtick's, "I Will Be Confident" motivational track today. Use it as your own truth track, worshiping the Lord by aligning your words with His Word. Or create your own that fits your style!
(Join us at Southpoint Church at 9am on Sunday for a practical and powerful plan on how to do this on your own! It's my all-time favorite message.)
